Back in 1999, Cem Hurturk was a software engineering student and developing custom web projects (Perl and CGI at that time) to customers all around the world. Octeth has born in those days by developing professional fully customized web applications.
In late 1999, Cem Hurturk noticed the lack of high-quality commercial email marketing software in the market and decided to develop one for the market. And this was the idea behind of Oempro in those days.
The first Oempro version was released under “Octeth Email Marketing v1.0” and in just a few months, tens of licenses have been sold. We started to receive several positive and encouraging feedbacks from our first Oempro customers and decided to shape the future of Octeth around Oempro and email marketing.
In 2000, the second version of “Octeth Email Marketing” was released under the name of “Octeth Email Marketing Pro v2” and this new release made a peak in both sales and popularity around the world. Octeth had hundreds of customers in 30 countries at that time.
Mert Hurturk was supporting Octeth as a freelancer by designing attractive user interfaces, logos, website designs and in 2006, Mert joined to the team and became a partner. Now he’s responsible from all our creative elements including website designs, user interfaces and the usability of our products.
In 2006, Mert noticed that there’s no good, easy-to-use and simple note taking, idea management and collaboration service and developed his own Wridea.com online idea management and collaboration service. It’s currently being used by hundred thousands of users around the world and highly popular in it’s category.
In 10 years, Octeth focused on email marketing products and services. We have developed Oempro and now it’s one of the best in the market with its features and the customer service behind the product. Addition to Oempro, we have opened hosted email marketing service Sendloop in late 2007 and it became highly popular between web designers and small business owners in just 2 years. We have thousands of Sendloop customers at the moment.
In 2008, we noticed that there’s no reliable and affordable email design testing service in the market and opened PreviewMyEmail.com. This unique service takes screen shots of your email on 19 email applications (Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL, Apple Mail, Outlook, etc.) and delivers the screen shots to you within a few minutes. We have several hundreds of PreviewMyEmail customers at the moment getting the benefit of white-label API and offering this unique service to their customers in a re-branded environment.
It’s now more than 10 years and Octeth is serving to ten thousands of customers in almost 100 countries. The head quarter is located in Istanbul, Turkey and the team had spread into three countries (Turkey, United States and England).
